Wow, where has this summer gone! I can't believe it is already mid July! Luke is now 15 months and a very active little boy. He runs everywhere he goes, loves to dance and sing and throws bouncy balls constantly. Luke is also a very brave little boy. He has absolutely no fear! He is definitely matching up to the characteristics first born boys typically have!

We have also been working on signing. Luke can now sign eat, more and all done. It is so amazing to see him sign. I hope signing will give Luke a way to tell us what he wants and minimize the tantrum stage - which we are starting to get into.

Luke loves to explore the world around him and it is so fun to see him in action. Below are some random pictures from the last few months.

Daytona Beach, FL in April. Ah, wish we could go back!

Daddy has big dreams. No pressure Luke!

Birthday Round 1

I can't believe Luke just turned one! This year has flown by! Luke has brought such joy to my life. I can't imagine a day without him. This past year has been filled with so many happy memories! I will miss Luke being a baby, but at the same time I can't wait to see the next new little thing he does. It is so amazing to see his personality start to unfold and all the things he starting to learn. Happy Birthday Luke!
My parents threw Luke a party at their house just before he turned one. Here are a few pictures of him eating the cake. It was hilarious! He could not get the cake in his mouth fast enough. We finally had to take the cake away because I think he would have eaten the whole thing!

Chicago Car Show

Every year we try to make it up to the Chicago Car Show with Matt's family. We have not been able to make it the last couple of years so were really excited to go again this year. This was also Luke's first trip to Chicago!

Sorry Matt, I don't think this will work :)

I think Luke liked this ride the best

Luke was wipped out after a few hours of walking around. Aunt Jennifer loved cuddling with him while he slept!

It just so happened that the Car Show fell on Valentine's Day this year. After the Car Show we went to Ditka's (Mike Ditka's reasturant). Their Bloody Mary's are the best!

I love this picture! On this particular day Luke did not want to take his afternoon nap. After several crying spells his room was finally silent. I walked into check on him and here is how I found him!

Matt and I are about to get a lot more exercise around the house. Luke started crawling on New Year's Day! Here is a video of Luke's new moves. You will find out that poor Cooper is not to thrilled with Luke's ability to get around!

Christmas Round 2

Here is Luke on Christmas morning with some of his gifts. We celebrated Christmas this year with my side of the family down in Evansville.
My parents got Luke some farm animals that make noises. Maggie (my sister and brother-in-laws dog) had to see where the noises were coming from!

Those are some big gifts for such a little guy!

On Christmas Eve we celebrated at my Aunt Karen's house. Here is a picture of Grandpa Gary, Luke and Aunt Karen. Aunt Karen got Luke a little monkey for Christmas. He loved it! Thanks Karen!

Luke in his Santa Suit

Getting a cute picture of Luke under the tree for our Christmas card was much harder than I had ever imagined! At first, I thought I could get Cooper and Luke in the picture . . but that idea quickly faded. Here are some pictures that did not make the cut.

After over 50 shots and 30 minutes the cutest of them all!

Hanging the Christmas Tree

I remember how excited I was last year for this time to come. Christmas with a baby is so much fun and there is so much to look forward to. Luke loves the Christmas tree. It was so neat to see him experience it all for the first time.
